Okay, now that it's back...

This morning at Sbx I realized there is always one or more women in work out clothes, semi-obese to morbidly obese, obviously just finished a "workout" at the gym, ordering one of those Sbx drinks that are 5000 calories and have 150g of fat. I don't get that.

Well, actually I do.

Fat isn't unhealthy...it is just a body shape.

Ever thought maybe they all just have fun working out?

You piece of shit...

In a similar vein, there was a woman in my old building who was about 100 pounds overweight and she had this $2000 racing bike. Every few days I'd witnessed her huffing and puffing to get the bike off the elevator and then she'd ride around the block ( if that ). Over the space of about three years she never seem to lose any weight or get in any better condition. Every time I saw her I thought I had the thought "WTF do you need a $2000 bike to go through this pretense of exercise?". She would have been better served by buying a used hundred dollar bike and spending the other 1900 on crystal meth. Unfortunately she did not seek my console. smile.gif

If you think living next door to a fat lady is that bad you haven't been around a lot of meth heads

Much in what you say. I suppose each are undesirable medical conditions. Given the choice though, I'd have to lean towards being a speed freak than being obese. If nothing else I'd have greater mobility. biggrin.gif

There is this weird New York culture of women wearing workout clothes seemingly 100% of the time. It is like if you don't have a dog, bike, yoga mat, and a tattoo you should get the fuck with it.

I really hate seeing women in athletic clothing. I don't know why, maybe it is the weird compression bras, but the idea that they are wearing the stuff to look like they have all of this leisure time to make themselves fit, and have not another care in the world bothers me. Is it a status thing? I mean, only Vox is allowed to do that. In a compression bra.

Indeed. Where I live there is a certain class of these that must also have a baseball hat, with pony tail sticking out the back, and they seem to prefer mid-size luxury SUVs like the Lexus GX, Volvo XC90, or the X5 BMW. The hat is usually bedazzled.

Definitely not just a New York thing.

Though I, for one, am OK with yoga pants.
