i don't get how weird it is to get stuff delivered from amazon by a carrier thats not, USPS, UPS, FedEx. Sometimes is the rare DHL order or an even more obscure delivery service.

A couple of times I ordered books that had a specific release date (like a popular best seller) and here in NYC you'll have some weird carrier named Lasership (I kid you not) deliver your package and its a dude in regular civilian clothing who gets out of a regular toyota camry knocks on your door and hands you the package and thats that.

I saw a couple of Lasership vehicles here in South FL. They use these dirty white vans with no windows...if they parked in front of my house to make a delivery I think I'd call the cops

Didn't you guys have Officer Friendly where you grew up? We were warned against this type of "package handling."

I've had Amazon deliveries show up at like 10pm sometimes. Very strange.

People who end every statement/question/sentence with "Sorry."

"I'm just curious about X, sorry!"

"Oh, this is different than before, sorry!"

"Now I may be totally wrong here, sorry, but.."

It is so god damn annoying.

If you can learn to dislike everyone equally like I've done, you won't feel the guilt of double standards.

I hate those weird shipping companies. Amazon shipped me some stuff I needed for a vacation via them, 2-day shipping, and they screwed it way up, lost the package or something. Amazon was actually great about it though and priority overnighted me a replacement free of charge.

this happened to us when some wine glasses from our wedding registry arrived shattered to all hell (based on the box sound). The guy on the line basically said "oh shoot, don't open it, avoid cuts and shards, we'll just send you a whole new order. Oh, this is for your registry! Nice, I'll make sure we overnight this."

I love Amazon.

People often tell me I should read some book because it is "philosophical." The recommended books are never philosophical, except in the sense that any kind of prose more complex than a grocery list is philosophical.

Do people recommend books to mathematicians or chemists or sociologists that way? "Oh man, you gotta read this book, it's got like lots of references to water and air that the characters drink and breathe and whatnot, of which can be described as compounds!"

Everyone in authority is more likely to rape you than a stranger. That's a fact.

I've had lots of people ask me questions about scary sounding ingredients on food packaging.
