Definitely, but the herbal flavor of the gin is an integral part of it. I don't feel the same way about vodka in just about all cases--it seems like it's there pretty much just to add alcohol.

While we are in the subject of alcohol.

Smirnoff ice, Bacardi breezers etc, I don't get people who buy them, why pay 5-10$ for 33cl of shit alcohol mixed with cheap soft drink, when you can go get a 70cl Bacardi for 20ish$ and a bottle of coke for 1-2$.

I drink copious amounts of pabst. I generally despise the craft beer people so I drink that to thumb my nose at them. I think they have shit palates and wouldnt kniw something good of it pinchef them in the uvula. I'm also of the opinion that beer should be light and refreshing. I blame this on growing up in a warm climate. I drink the shit out of white spirits.

As far as lawnmower beers go, PBR is not that bad.

A crisp pils--preferably German, though Czech will do--on a hot summer day is one of life's greatest pleasures.

I have one that I like: bison grass vodka. Something the poles have been making for 500 years or so, where the vodka is flavored with a special type of grass. And unlike the stuff generally put in the category of "flavored vodka" it's not sweetened.

But yeah, I absolutely agree with you on the general point. I don't bother with vodka or white rum because there really isn't any point to it. I like flavor, so why would I care about any white spirit that's not gin?

I forgot about white rum. Almost as bad as vodka IMO.

Really, rum in general is damn near irredeemable in my book, with the occasional exception of black strap rum, preferably drunk in the tropics.
