My wife has a ~5 year old cousin that's eyeballs deep into that stuff. My wife and I both find it nauseating. I'm pretty sure we'll figure out a way to train any girls we have out of it. My wife's boss had a good suggestion: you can't be actively negative about it, but you can hint that girly princess fairytale stuff is for babies, and they'll naturally push themselves out of it so they can feel older.

I'm guessing a lot of it is social circles and TV. The cousin even has Barbie Princess video games :barf:

Yeah don't get me wrong, she likes Beauty and the Beast and the Little Mermaid, she just doesn't identify with it. She told me the Disney Store looks like "someone barfed pink all over it." She's more likely to identify with Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Marceline from Adventure Time.

The Canuker girls watch some disney movies but they would rather watch "retro" 80's stuff. I think it might be that LC and I attempt to talk those up a little more but who knows. The pink everywhere is hard to avoid it seems though.

My 42 year old cousin is (intentionally) having another kid. They already have four. One of them is developmentally disabled.

Over the last few years I have seen many people write "Superbowl" instead of "Super Bowl." I wonder why people started doing that. (Or maybe they've always done that, but I hadn't noticed.)

I don't think we're allowed to write either. I think we have to refer to it as "the big game." If you write "Superbowl" or "Super Bowl" you're probably going to jail.

You would think that the government of the world's largest population would be smart enough to alter their methods of hacking and not use the same exact tactic that got them caught in the past laugh.gif

Why do so many women who have too much stuff for their purse/work bag use one of those pink-striped Vicortia's Secret bags to hold their overflow? confused.gif This morning I saw 2 otherwise semi-attractive, fairly tasteful & conservatively ddressed women clutching one of these to hold their shoes or extra files. To me, it always looks like they should contain sex toys or crotchless panties - I think it's a very strange choice for an extra holdall.
