DUUUURRRR.

You counter steer after initiating the lean (otherwise fall on your ass). So the drawing you posted shows the track "after" initiating the turn. Entry/Turn in/Counter-steer in that order. Or the way you think it goes Counter steer/Fall on ass. There is no need to "swing out".

Get on a bike and try it, I do it about 50 times a day. Also in the context of the discussion above the turn is across traffic which generally would be a low speed turn where counter-steer is negligible or non-existent.

My dream last night: my girlfriend was showing me some weird TV documentary about a Playboy playmate. I declared that her face was ugly and said, "She looks like Ian Ziering from 90210." And my gf corrected my pronunciation: "Eye-an Ziering." Then the documentary was about how the playmate was raised in a household of female Mennonites. I said that looked horrific but my gf said that it seemed like a pleasant way to grow up.
