Deli containers are far superior to mason jars for food storage. They're lighter, they stack, and you get them for free when you get takeout pho. They don't have dat shabby chic aesthetic though.

Here is what I witnessed at Starbuck today when a woman got to the front of the line:

Barista: What can I get started for you?
Customer: I can't hear you I got my Beatzphones covering my ears.
Barista: Well then you should take off your Beatzphones.

and etc.

I ask this in a non derogatory / condescending tone: why is it that travel is so alluring for many people?

I admittedly haven't visited many foreign countries but my recent trip to Iceland has me wondering what I'm missing out on. I'm normally not a FOMO type of person and I generally couldn't care less about taking vacations here and there.

But I dunno. Lately I've been kinda itching to change things up. But I also don't want to spend a lot of money either 😅

Because there's a lot of cool shit out there to see. And eat. Mostly to eat.

I would feel like a part of my life would be kinda wasted if I didn't have the opportunity to travel

Travel is great but getting home is even better.

Just cancelled our Xmas vacation to help pay for the backyard. frown.gif

What I don't get is people that are in debt up to their eyeballs and still drop bucks on vacation. It would seem to me the first thing to go when broke is travel.

I feel like going on vacation and traveling are not the same thing. Going on vacation to me means a trip whose primary purpose is relaxation. Traveling is different and exhausting but more rewarding.

So then I travel to the grocery store but I vacation at the bar.

Plenty of ways to travel without spending all of your money. I pay more taxes than my gf has ever made... And she's traveled all over the damn world.

But dunno... By Ethan's definition, I don't care that much about vacations (unless there is some other element that makes them special), but very much enjoy travel. I want the goal to be about the experience. Whether it be skiing, eating sweet food, climbing rocks, or touring cultural institutions.

If the goal is just relaxing... I've got lots of ways to take time and relax that don't require planning, airports, or sleeping in rented beds. Can't fathom paying $$$ to go stay within the confines of an all inclusive resort in some exotic locale.
