Actually, I much prefer "the Brown and Yellow" to "the Friars", which grates for reasons I don't fully understand.

I have never ever heard the pods referred to as the brown and yellow.

Huh. But the reds play in The Great American Ballpark.

When I was young I used to watch Braves games on TBS all the time. This was in the days before national MLB TV coverage was so widespread. And so pretty nearly every day I heard the Braves referred to as America's Team. I suppose no one calls them that anymore, but it's etched in my brain.

Ted Turner is a genius. except maybe for the revenue sharing thing.

Come on, neither of those teams is even in the American League.
Unlike the Astros.

I swear I'm not even lying every once in a while when I see that the Brewers are playing the Dodgers or the Giants or whatever, for a second or two I think "Oh looks like they're doing inter-league game today." Even though the Brewers are in the same division as the team that is now my hometown team. Childhood memories are persistent.

Maybe if they moved to Sacramento or something I could see them as americas team. Then they will have called 4 regions of america home (boston, milwaukee, atlanta)

I always was upset about that because they would always cut away from a show I wanted to watch.
