I know lots of people who obsessively follow that sort of salary information, sometimes for pure nosy/gossipy purposes, sometimes to try to benchmark (reasonable or otherwise) what they "should" be making, sometimes both.
I only use it when I'm applying for a job. From a current employer perspective, it is much easier anyway. From a past employer, who cares? I'm not working with any of the part-time Best Buy employees like I did in college.
It is like $60 per 22lb bag. So a pretty big premium. Other Blue Buffalo Wilderness goes for ~$45 per 24 lb bag, so a 40% premium per pound.
My dog really like the Blue Buffalo stuff for some reason, so that's what I've been getting for the last couple months. I might have to get the gator stuff just for a laugh.

I rotate through whatever is on sale from grain free stuff. So it will typically be Fromm (Made in Wisconsin!), Taste of the Wild, Blue Buffalo Wilderness, and Merrick. Typically I can find it online for <$1.50/lb by buying two bags.
one of my kitties suffered from explosive diarrhea, rectal bleeding etc so we went to this special venison/pea food and while it works great for his little furry bowel it costs $65-70 for 8.5 lbs. boo.
(although lb for lb cat food might be more expensive than dog food in any case we have 2 cats and so it gets pretty expensive but hey it beats what he was dealing with anyway)
