Maybe he's using you as a rabbit?

Terrified of getting a speeding ticket, but figures if he follows you, you'll get nabbed before him.

Either use the cruise control of pay attention to your speedometer.
This is Amurika, people know when you're cheatin' em!

Do they use their turn signals to go around highway curves like they do here?

Because people think they're special little flowers and everyone in the world cares about their opinions.  I was thinking about this the other day as I saw several cars with the stick figure families.  People believe that Milennials overshare online, but why would you share your family size including the number of pets you have on your car?  Why would you put 25 political bumper sticks on your car?  Etc, etc.

I've seen these things around here.

I just can't bring myself to take Wiccans seriously.

I quit doing "brake checks" many years ago. Now, if it's bothering me such that I want to do something about it, I just take my foot off the gas. People that tailgate are always driving a far inferior vehicle than mine so why encourage them to rear end me? (insert HRoi comment)

Notice that HRoi stopped making rear end joaks ever since it came to light that Barry from Accounting took a liking to docking behind and giving him love taps at the urinal.

Maybe this is something I'll come to understand better over time (or, maybe not): what is it about growing old that makes things--interactions, transactions, choices--so difficult? My parents have always been kind of difficult people in the typical first-gen Asian-American way (imperfect English skills, demanding & picky when spending money, etc.). But it feels like every damn thing (currently: a plumbing repair) is now a huge ordeal that involves numerous questions and lots of grumbling. I guess part of it is the prospect of being on a very limited income although my parents aren't retired yet. And I'm guessing part of it is some combination of cognitive slowdown coupled with just being tired of doing similar things for decades. But I still can't quite figure out how that manifests itself in being difficult and making things difficult for no particular reason.

i've noticed (and heard the same thing from other people) that the peculiarities and eccentricities of most folks' personalities tend to deepen with age. imo maintaining a reasonable social attitude takes kind of a lot of energy and i think older people just get worn out and start to give up and indulge their quirks.

on the other hand my memere is like 90 years old sharp as a tack and has a great personality. her mind really hasn't aged at all. it's remarkable.

but i suspect i'm gonna have to work to stay sociable as i get older.
