No one gives a fuck.

In fact, you'd best not put that there when you've gone to a shitty school. And even if you went to an M7, that makes you look like a huge show off douche.

Take it off.

Totally depends what field you're in. Healthcare is a field heavily driven by credentials and people put all kinds of shit behind their names, but even here, some folks do get carried away. I mean, if you have a master's in nursing (MSN) there's really no need to tell us you have a bachelor's in nursing (BSN) as you are not getting the former without the latter. Then again, we're talking mostly nurses that over do it, and most of them are silly people to begin with.

However, knowing a doc is a board certified pediatrician vs. a board certified geriatrician actually gives useful info.

Makes sense in your field. Not in mine. In fact, in my field, people prolly look down on MBAs as a waste.

Project management professional

The lowest form of human life after HR (and nurses it sounds like) are PMPs.

One of coworkers said "Someone has to win [the lottery]" as justification for while he'll go buy more tickets.  Last night's lottery results seem to contradict that statement.

I think this is is the trend across a lot of industries now, even in Finance when BS + IB + MBA = the standard. Now an MBA then into IB is either "oh you couldn't get into private equity from your analyst roll?" or "oh you couldn't get into IB as an analyst and are taking the MBA to Associate rode?" or, more commonly, "so which country are you from?"

It's still a right of passage of sorts for CFO type rolls, I was always surprised by the Finance leaders at companies I used to work with and how many of them and good undergrad + crappy part time MBA program on their CV's. The latter was just to say "yeah, he's an MBA", which baffled me.

The people who sign MBA after their name usually got it from University of Phoenix

I always sign mine as RDFOH, Reverend Doctor Funk on High, as authorized by the Universal Life Church for a half sawbuck.

I respect that you don't try to denigrate PMPs and concede HR is, in fact, the lowest form of (technically) human life.

But this Project Management Professional of which you speak; it's a certification to stroll around like Bill Lumberg? And get paid? I think I need to get me summa dat.

why doesn't popular trash can maker Simple Human make 15liter trash cans? it's either dinky 10liter then directly to huge 30liter or bigger sizes.

FWIW I use about 1/3 of the letters I could legit put behind my name. MPH is one as I find docs respect that degree so it gives me a little more cred than someone in management that has no actual healthcare education. A lot of docs are getting an MPH, or even a DrPH, so that's probably why they like it too.

I only really tack the PhD on when I'm emailing vendors. They'll withhold technical information if they don't know that you're in a position to need it, so it helps.

Internally, everyone has a PhD, so it really doesn't matter. Nobody goes by "Dr," except for the nameplate on the door (which I still get a little warm and fuzzy seeing). You'd come off as a huge dick if you insisted on going by Dr Lastname, even to your postdocs.
