How can they even get away with calling it Judas Priest when it doesn't have Ripper Owens on the mic (singing the songs)?

You .... are .... kidding ....... right?

Because they have Rob Halford on the mic (the real lead singer).

Not to fault the band for wanting to carry on without him (and Ripper's a decent fill-in) but it's only a tribute band without Metal God Halford.

Even though Steve Perry was not the original frontman of Journey, the people of the world cannot think of Journey without also thinking of Steve Perry. (Not Steven Tyler, that is Aerosmith.) It is the same kind of thing with Judas Priest. When the people of the world have the idea of Judas Priest in their minds, they have right there with it the idea of Ripper Owens.

It's not a question of who the original singer was, it's a question of what singer embodies the band and it's material in the audience's mind. Perry was that for Journey. And, Halford, not Ripper, did that for Priest.

For those who see/hear Priest through the lens of Ripper - well, I am sorry to tell you, but you've been cheated.

I would hope so. Ripper is from Akron/Cleveland. Nothing good ever came from Cleveland. The Cleveland Orchestra is the notable exception.

Why do I get the feeling L'Inc is being disingenuous with his assessment of Priest's lead singers (I think he's trolling us)?

You got another thing comin'!

(love it in the outro when he says "can you feeeeel it?", little did we know...)

edit: now it's stuck in my freakin' head. As a musical child of the eighties, that song still rocks. I'm thinking I gotta blare that tonight... geez I'm getting old. I wonder if I can still note-for-note air guitar Lynch's solo from In My Dreams.

I'm your TURBO LOVER!

It's hard to describe how awesome that song was to a 9 year old boy watching it on MTV at the time it first came out.

Marky Mark = Rob Halford replacement. True story as I saw it in a movie.

Rock Star wasn't a movie it was a documentary (rockumentary).

Big Bottom is my favorite song from that movie.

You might be thinking of a different movie.

Why did it massively downpour today for the 10 minutes it took me to get into my car, drive to work and get out of the car. Enough to take the crease out of my pants.

It's gorgeous outside now.
