Already have the N&F Slim Guy black denims in 31. I would guess I'd need the chino in the same size--the only one not available from Epaulet.

Anybody have an N&F chino they could measure? There're measurements online, but they're conflicting and I don't trust them.

Keep in mind you want your chinos to fit a little looser just because the fabric won't give as much.

I'm a 34.5 waist; 34 on a good day. I have the N+F Slim guy chino in 33, which is 35-35.5 in the waist depending on stretch. I sized up on Mike's reccomendation - I was hesitant at first, but they fit very very well. These don't give as much as your denim would, so don't account for stretch when you're sizing them. I wouldn't get the same size as your jeans. Check out Ep's thread in B+S for more info.

If you have any other questions, shoot, or send Mike at Epaulet an email.

Are these the infamous UVCs? If so, are they available at the NYC store?

Uniqlo vintage chino is not that slim......I think both Polo and BB have the pants you desired in good price during sales.

They weren't the UVCs. I'm trying to track down a reasonable priced pair myself. They were the DI flat fronts.

The SEXT11 (Self Edge x Toyo) pant is actually a 5 pocket slim fitting jungle cloth (heavy khaki) pant with contrast indigo stitching.. Should be out in about 6 weeks or so.

It sounds like you're looking for something that's cut like a pair of jeans rather than a traditional pair of chinos? In that case, Levis 501 or 514 in Khaki. $30 at Kohl's and good enough for James Bond.

khaki jeans =/= chinos

Yeah, either "regular" chinos or 5-pocket style. Good suggestions, guys. I thought of the 501 just before coming to this forum today. I even saw some khaki shrink-to-fits while walking through Macys. Levis are reasonably priced but, if I'm not mistaken, they start looking like crap after a short while.

I'm willing to spend up to $150 or so.

Thanks again!

just either get the KMW chinos/canvas 1980s or RRL chinos from farinelli's or the n&f chinos from epaulet. best bang for the buck.
are the n&f ones just khaki jeans?

hmmm, yeah it appears they actually are denim. in which case i'd recommend the j crew officer's chino.

the earnest sewn ones i saw today were nice. had them in khaki and another color. i can't seem to find them online anywhere

i've heard great things about uniqlo and incotex. also, jcrew just released an "urban slim" fit which might solve your conundrum!
