Err... well... I'm no anthropologist, and I think regardless the academic consensus is that the notion of race isn't relevant to science, but I think it was black from the time of the rise of Homo sapiens until the point where the forebears of the Egyptians mutated, lost a significant amount of pigmentation, and became established as a distinct group.

So the guy that asked about naming one successful leader in Africa was implyinjg the Nubians? I don't think so.
