Agree completely. #2 was the best of this genre that I've seen. Who knew that action movies could have character development?

some recent failures I've seen

Firewall - horrible
Epic Movie - had to turn it off after 15 minutes
The Wicker Man - really boring

yeah, saw firewall about 6 months ago, i predicted every single plot "twist," and actually quite a few of the lines... saw die hard 2 last night, which was OK i guess, but had some unbelieveably large plot holes....basically the story revolves around terrorists hijacking a control tower and shutting off the landing lights so no planes can land, and somehow they couldn't be rerouted to another airport?!? doesn't make any sense, and the special effects are overblown (somehow grenades take around 20 seconds to explode, just enough time for bruce willis to eject)...anywho...

I tried to sit through Blood Rayne, I really tried....

+1 about spiderman three, saw it at the cinerama and even THAT wasn't exciting. the covenant was pretty ridiculous, top 10 worst movies i've ever seen.

Just remembered one- "The Good Girl" with Jennifer Aniston, John C. Rielly, and Jake Gyllenhal {or however the hell you spell it}. My God, I hated this thing. 2 hours looking at Aniston mope about how her life sucks, bitching about how her life sucks, and then trying to change it by sleeping with Gyllenhal, who thinks he's Holden Caulfield. But her life isn't that bad, compaired to other people. Zooey Deschanel is about the only thing I liked about it. I actually paid money to see it in a theater, and almost walked out half way through it, but I'm a cheap bastard so I had to get my 8 bucks worth and sit though the whole damn thing. Gyllenhal kills himself in the end. Whoops! I guess I just wrecked the ending!

well this should come as no surprise to anyone, but Mr. Bean's Holiday was fucking atrocious.

It may be the only time I have ever left a movie halfway through. Didnt even finish my popcorn.

A new cinema has just opened in Saigon, so wanted to go check it out, had a choice of Ice Age 2, Rocky 27 (or whatever theyre up to), and Mr Bean. I have long drawn a link between Mr Bean and my own occasional constipation, but unfortunately the other two movies were both overdubbed in Vietnamese, so Atkinson won by default.

*shudder*

The worst part were the locals just breaking up laughing at that cockhead.

This shit may traumatise me into my forties. I may seriously end up on Oprah in tears telling people about the day I went to that theatre.

The original Wicker Man is a wonderful, creepy, quite amazing film--have absolutely NO idea why they would even consider doing a re-make of it. koji

if you were to watch Versus for the plot then it sucked ass. If you were to watch it for bizzare/zombie killin/slight violent love story/WTF value then its a good movie. I have it play in the background while I study all the time.

The first time I watched it I was disappointed because the preview made it look so damn cool and action packed (I was expecting a plain violent Yakuza movie).

on that note: Pistol Opera looked cool but was a cluster fuck of dialog and plot twists leading to nothing

I Know Who Killed Me.

It sounded soooo promising. Lindsay Lohan, a metal pole, some under-the-radar actors, gore.

Well, folks, it didn't live up to the hype. In fact, this movie explains a good bit of her recent DUI arrest. Her choices:

Option A: Appear on Letterman to promote the new flick
Option B: Get drunk, drive around with coke in pocket.

I would have chosen option B as well, now that I've seen the movie. If you wait a few weeks, it should be on the 3:00 rainy-day Sunday special on broadcast TV, and if you have shirts that need ironing, or a sock drawer that needs organizing, that would be your time to get started.

This film had hype?

Unfortunately, I saw this movie too, and was going to mention that it should be on everyones "10 movies never to watch--ever--list."
