Soooo...by extension then....since our cinematic taste is all so upside down....all the movies listed above under the category of 'blow', you think are pretty good. Cool, you're welcome to them

Idiocracy. Holy god this movie was terrible. It actually made me dumber.

About 3/4 of the way through watching it (I'm really not sure why I didn't just turn it off, maybe I couldn't because of my temp. reduced intelligence) I decided to make something to eat and basically just threw the package in the microwave and turned it on. After a loud bang and a salmony smell in the kitchen I knew my food was done. The inner packaging had exploded. But actually, the salmon was pretty good, considering.

Anyway, the movie. When it was described to me it sounded for some reason like it could be great. (A guy gets frozen and wakes up 500 years later and he is now the smartest person in the world.) But after a little bit into it I realized I really hope the world ends long before this happens. 99.99% of the people in the movie are total idiots, but the main problem was that the main character(s) were also pretty stupid. I think it could have been a much better movie if the main characters were actually likeable or sympathetic.

I'm really not sure why I am writing all this, but this movie's been bugging me all day.

Movies that did not blow: Children of Men (amazing), Snakes on a Plane (better than I expected somehow), Stranger Than Fiction (I can stand Will Ferrell in it!), The Inside Man.

Syriana could be one fo the worst movies ever when you take into account all the critical acclaim.

Saw We Are Marshall last night at the black market theatre (cafe with a full theatre setup on top floor, big couches, surround sound, projector, where they show illegal DVDs, free for customers - great concept). Anyhow, it sucked. It is a great story, but Matthew McConawhatever was cranking up the mimicry while everyone else was hamming up the cheese. And who on earth thought McG would be a good choice to direct this?

Saw the Departed last night and oh wow is it horrible. The editing is like a quick cut trailer (i.e., really irritating) yet the movie robs you of like 6 hours of your life or something anyway. And the action is confusing and convoluted, and goes on needlessly for like another hour after it should have ended.

And just to help you not see this, I'm going to ruin it for you. THEY ALL DIE AT THE END. This is what I tell people to mess with them when they haven't seen a movie because everyone knows it's not really going to happen. But it happens in this movie. Everyone dies. Hmm, this could go on forever. How should we end it? I know, he shoots him, then gets shot, then that guy gets shot, then when he thinks he's safe he gets shot too. Not like in a firefight, one at a time, assassination style, but all within like 15 seconds. Oh yeah, and somehow everyone pulls a silencer out of his ass to do this. Does the girl get shot? I'm not sure, by the end I was laughing so hard I couldn't see.

The Messenger SUCKED!!!!!!! I can't emphasize that enough. Let's analyze the sititation (sic). Who says? "We're out of money so shit, we GOTTA grow fuckin' sun flowers. And then after all the shit happens they still live in the house.

"Children of men" SUCKS donkey balls. Pointless drivel about nothing.
Critics who praised it should be burned at the stke on Oscar stage.

Dreamgirls bored me senseless. Saw it following all the great reviews and award nominations etc - and I just dont see what all the fuss is about.

Ghost Rider, dear lord. I think they should play this movie during interrogations instead of waterboarding.

Not to belabor the obvious, but the HK version this movie was lifted from is of course, much better.

I didnt mind Departed, but didnt think it was the best thing Ive seen this year by far. A friend of mine borrowed his work projector today, so had a few of us around to watch DVDs. Saw The Descent - which, as gore movies go - was decent. Then watched Miami Vice - which blew every bit as hard as I thought it would. I guess you can view it either as an 80s remake or as a standalone cop movie...but I think it fails on both counts. As a remake with no cameos and basically no references to the original other than having one white guy and one black guy on vice in Miami...it fails. As a standalone cop movie, it was too long and not anywhere near interesting enough. Acting was mediocre with an overdose of overacted overintensity. It failed there too.

I thought this was one of the best movies I've seen in the last few years. Then again, I always did have a taste for donkey scrotum.

Now The Departed - that sucked. Really just ridiculous, overlong, boring. j summarized it perfectly.

I definitely have to agree with you. My whole family watched the Departed and liked it but I watched and and was like "this sucks." Infernal Affairs was and always will be a much better movie.

Finally saw Hostel and aside from a lot of Eastern European scenery (nudity), it was ridiculous and stupid.

Zodiac was hands down the worst movie I've seen in quite some time.
