I remember seeing it in my forensic anthropology class at Cal. This was a student run low unit class run by some hot chicks with a very morbid obsession with bones and the dead. They played this movie on the last day of class and it was great (the movie had korean subtitles which made the viewing experience better for some reason). Most overrated movie for me was Crash. I know a lot of people liked it but I didn't (my personal opinion of course so I won't bash the movie here).
P.s. Dead Alive has 25 or so minutes removed from the original kiwi release (as well as I think the Spanish and Japanese releases) - including some of the best parts with the zombie baby and the lawnmower! Check running times. US versions max out at 99 minutes. The "Holy GraiL" cut is 124 minutes I believe

Higher Learning was just on HBO. Other than being filmed at my alma mater UCLA (while I was there actually) it seriously blows.

Name me a better superhero movie. BB was probably the best superhero movie I have seen. It was a lot more plausible than the other superhero movies I have seen.

Jon.

I enjoyed Unbreakable as a superhero movie... even though the concept was better than the execution. The Rocketeer....(mmm Jennifer Connelly) Some might say the original Matrix was better than Batman Begins. The Crow was pretty cool too.

just watched Capote.

Didnt blow, but I don't think PSH deserved the Oscar for it.

Incidentally, I am sick of reading reviews featuring the word 'channelled'. Jamie channelled Ray. Joaquin channelled Johnny. Philip channelled Truman. Tom channelled Katie. etc. Hackneyed phrasiology disturbs me.

Next up: A History of Violence.

I watched Capote recently myself, and I really loved it. I was enthralled from beginning to end, and it surprises me that I've heard it's a "style over substance" movie. I personally found it a great combination of both.

I have seen something decent at a cinema for a chance; The Notorious Betty Page. The only problem I had was an older couple sitting next to us that were pissed beyond the point of no return and were talking the whole time. Oblivious

We just rented Match Point. That has to rank right up there with Cookie's Fortune and Solaris as one of the most boring films of all time.

Great clothes though.

Edit:

Saw Hostel last night - predictable and rtaher silly, however, two points.
First film to disturb my stomach in years - the eyeball part and the sight of the scalpel. I am sensitive to needles and surgical equipment.
Did anyone else recognise that Japanese client that the Paxton character asks if it was good? It drove me nuts for a bit, then I saw the credits. It was Takashii Miike! That was a good little side joke - "You could spend all your money in there!"

The beginning was a soft core porno, The only part I liked was when the chick jumped in front of the train I laughed my balls off. And when he killed the guy at the end was he any better?

King Kong blew a big hairy one it was soo long and drug out at one point I stood up and said "Just kill the ******* monkey already"

Scary Movie 4 was pretty bad. There was one funny part Chris Elliott played a marsupialed guy and he stood up to pray and said "Pip Pip Pip Pip ******"
Or "pee pee pee pee and ******" but that's not as funny
