Ok... so I just moved over near Avenue A (and Houston) and want to know some good places to go in the area. I typically never venture East of Bowery, so this will be a new experience for me.
Basically, I am looking for suggestions for ;
1. a place to get a cappuccino
2. a place to sit and read the Sunday Times and have brunch
3. a few good bars to hang out at
4. some good and casual restaurants (maybe entrees in the 15-20$ price range)
5. anything else that you might find notable
6. place to get Falafel and Hummus

Isn't Katz's deli at Houston and First? [Googled it; close enough.] The last time I was in NY (2004) I wandered around the Village looking for Jones Diner, which I remembered fondly from the nineties. I never found it and thought I was losing my mind (or at least my sense of direction), but when I got back to my friend's place I looked it up on the internet and found that it had closed.
