The universal praise for Dylan's song writing ability has me on a quest. Since the sound of Dylan's voice is unbearable for me I am looking for covers of his songs. From what I've heard I am missing out on the greatest American song writer of all times. Can someone recommend great covers of his tunes?

All of Johnny Cash's biggest hits.
If you don't think Bob Dylan can sing you haven't listened to him much, really.

The sound and style not the technical ability.

My Chemical Romance recently did a punk version of Desolation Row. Takes a Dylan song, and, as Rolling Stone says, turned it into a Sex Pistols song. It really is a nice cover. Also, the Grateful Dead does a number of Dylan tunes. There are thousands of MP3s bootleg Dead concerts on the Internet.

The Band's version of I Shall Be Released is far better than the original. Same with When I Paint My Masterpiece. Here is a version of Released from the Festival Express tour (1970?). One of Manuel's greatest vocal performances! Still makes me tear up, particularly the "Now yonder stands a man in this lonely crowd/A man who swears he's not to blame/ All day long I hear him shouting so loud/Just crying out that he was framed" verse. Powerful.
