Yeah.. I think Chow Fun is a better example of Chinese noodle... and when done correctly (preferably with beef tendon), it is WAY better than Pad Thai

Chow Mein>Pad Thai>Lo Mein

Pad Thai all the way

For me it is a thai. And why must we chose? Can't we live in a world with both?

but

pad kee mow > chow fun > chow mein

I like the texture of flat noodles better, but as always, only if they're easy on the grease.

i have incredibly fond memories of both, but thai food is trendier these days or something and it seems easier to find good thai restaurants. chinese restaurants have become so ubiquitous and seem to have taken on more of a quick and easy junk food identity for the average american. Of course you can always find good examples of both but i take pad kee mow over pad thai every time.

Pad Thai.. no contest!

pad thai, but not the americanized kind (they made it oily so it could be delivered and still bear some semblance of freshness). the original is not oily and it has to be eaten immediately.

I've had both and voted for lo mein. I've had "authentic" pad thai (I have some Thai people in my family and they made it) and restaurant pad thai.

Having said that, I don't think either is very good.

Pad thai in a heartbeat.

The textural contrast with the noodles and crushed peanuts is perfect. One of the real vegetarian pleasures in the world.

I prefer lo mein, because I prefer the egg flour type noodle better than rice noodles used for pad thai

and lo mein is more satisfying, sometimes they make the sauce in pad thai too sweet and use too much sugar and the soggy rice noodles are too wet and stuck together.

lo mein keeps better and you dont have to hurry and eat it right away, lo mein has more variety and meats

Singapore style over thin crispy noodles is also very good

or Filipino Pancit Lo mein with thick noodles

tomato & beef lo mein when tomatoes are in season is also good

Pad Thai, but like Amnesiac, there are a bunch of other things with those awesome wide flat noodles, that I'd rather have.

Crap, now I'm hungry.

the noodles are supposed to cling together, to some extent. i hate it when they screw up the noodles, or put too much sugar.
