Backwards shirt? Faconnable/Goldberg

I picked up a really nice casual button-up shirt today at the thrift store. It's a Faconnable by Albert Goldberg made in HK. Sized medium, but it's obviously a men's medium because the sleeves are long enough for me (34" sleeve length). I didn't notice until I got it home and tried it on, though, that the buttons are on the left side of the shirt and the buttonholes on the right. It has a pocket on the left (normal) and all the other details are normal for a men's dress shirt aside from minimal interlining in the collar and cuffs and no stay slots in the collar. I like it, and it's not going to keep me up nights, but what's going on here?

Navy blue, like most of the men's Faconnable stuff I've seen.

Thanks - I think it is a women's shirt. I guess I will either give it to a woman or pillage the buttons.

Wouldn't there be obvious extra fabric and breast darting if it were a women's shirt?

One would think, but there isn't. It's apparently a woman's "man's-style" shirt.

For the stylish, and well-prepared walk of shame.
