Surprising Taste Combinations

Are there any combinations of food and/or drink that taste really good or maybe just interesting to you? I'm drinking Fat Tire and munching on semi-sweet chocolate chips right now. Together, they taste a little like a root beer float, especially if I swish them around in my mouth... Another one: red onions and something that escapes me now -- avocado? capers? something -- tastes like bacon to me. Edit: I remember. It's potato chips. Red onions and some potato chips taste like bacon to me.

I was going to write about some truly putrid sexual fluid/solid combinations as a sick and juvenile joke, but I like you too much and will abstain from ruining the thread.

Peanut butter, ritz crackers and a really jammy Aussie Shiraz.

Beer and Chewy Chips Ahoy was always an amazing combo.

I think bars are the best places for surprising taste combos: flaming Dr.Pepper, fireball, etc. A buddy bartender of mine designed a drink that was pretty unbearable going down but tasted exactly like Fruity Pebbles when burped afterward.

Basil and chocolate.

Kimchi is a great complement to a lot of foods. Kimchi on pizza, kimchi in burgers, even kimchi in a taco.

It's got to be the right kimchi though.

My British wife got me drinking cold hard cider. I find it a delicious combination with spicy food on hot days.

a favorite of mine is a shot of brandy poured on a bowl of any clear soup.

These are some very interesting combos. I'm going to try them all at some point. Well, not all of them:

This sounds like something I would love to feed to my sister.

I live cinnamon raisin bagels with cream cheese. At first I thought it wouldn't work, but it's really good.
