Jeans w/o length options

Thread Starter
I've never bought a pair of jeans where the length was set for all pairs. I was wondering how they worked. I wear about a 30" or 31" length and am interested in getting a pair that seems to only be offered in a 34". I realize I can have them professionally hemmed, but won't that mess up the distressing and patterns? The particular jeans I'm looking at are PD&C. If i get them cut to my size, will the fading on the leg go down to my ankles (looking mighty strange)? Also, if they're boot-cut, won't the lower leg fit really wierd if so much is taken from the bottom? thanks for any help. ken

Yes, tailoring can make a pair of $185 jeans look like hand-me-downs, but not if you have the right tailor. What tailors are doing now is called "invisible stitching." It's where they reattach the original bottoms after tailoring, thus making them look untouched. If your tailor dosn't offer this, then find a new one who does.
