Yes, that is the way to go. Nothing sillier than a man who seeks to make a statement through his socks.

If you want to look conservative in a business setting, matching sock color to your pants color is definitely acceptable. If you want to stand out a bit and be more fashion forward, you can mix in different color socks to match your tie, your shirt, etc.

Gallo socks are really nice, colourful and different from usual ones(still essential)
As a drawback you can't wear them in any occasion

You will run in to trouble if the socks are darker than both the pants and shoes, though.

If you would like to be taken seriously as a professional, it would be wise to stick to Navy, Charcoal, medium grey and brown in mild patterns.

I enjoy bright socks here and there, but i keep them for the weekends or occasions meant for fun.

I agree. I tend to wear argyles with khaki pants, but if I need a solid for business casual, then I wear a shade or two darker than my pants.
