I teared up when I got to this line: "When I watched it, I had really no idea about the content of the theme of the movie," Colby's mother told the Register. "I just know that word 'Up' and all of the balloons and I swear to you, for me it meant that (Colby) was going to go up. Up to heaven."

Damn.

Sad, awful story. I guess I give credit to Pixar but to be honest it's not like they had much choice. Would any of us think for any more than 1 second about whether or not to do this? And they're going to get plenty of great press from it.

I'm not saying it wasn't classy... just... sort of a no-brainer. Still, very very tragic. Godspeed, little girl.

I'm happy she got her wish, but I'm still sad after reading this.

Pixar had no moral obligation to do it. "It would be awefully nice if..." doesn't mean "You have to do this...". Had they said "sorry we're too busy" or some other BS no one would blame them. Therefore it was a nice act on their behalf. Anyways, sad story. May she RIP.
