BTW: for lovers of Metropolitan, it just came out on DVD in Feb.

Can't recall if people were talking about it here or on AAAC.

Oh, ok fine:

Gloomy Sunday: Ein Lied von Liebe und Tod

It's absolutely spectacular, and I've met Erika Marozsán in real life.

Jon.

Pulp Fiction.

No... Double Indemnity.

No.......oh nevermind. One is impossible.

Waking Life, because it is essentially a series of dense essays in movie form, but remains fascinating throughout

oh and it's also the most visually unique movie ever

Trainspotting. Honorable mention to Goodfellas for making me toss a mental coin several times over the decision.

DocHolliday, you have got to check out Deadwood if you haven't already. Powers Boothe is even cooler in Deadwood than he was in Tombstone.

I've seen bits and pieces, but I haven't sat down and really watched it. I'll add it to my Netflix queue right now.

Cannon Ball Run

If you're going to push me to it, Star Wars: A New Hope. Call me pedestrian, but I watched that damn thing so many times between the ages of 6 and 12 that it really is a part of my identity, especially as far as imprinting ethical and moral values goes.

Other films have equal archetypical resonance, which I'm a sucker for, but none have the same childhood connection for me.

Whale Rider. It's the only movie that's ever made me cry, excepting Land Before Time as a 2nd grader (WHY DID THE MOM DYNOSOUR HAVE TO DIE!?!?!?!?!?, WAAAAAHHH).

Honorable mention goes to Top Gun.

I laughed at Whale Rider's title. It was a much better movie than the title seemed to indicate.

Yeah. I didn't find it too awesome the first time, but I will have to watch it again.

To the topic, I'll have to say Blade Runner.
