2 semis is a bit much. Wish they did like Europe and just stayed in the right lane.

Just found out that there is a new Aprilia dealer in Northern VA (Clarendon), about 20 minutes from me. TEST RIDE!!!

What is the highest mileage you would do for a bike to commute on

ER6 just turned over 15K. It's not bad but I don't want to put the $$$ into it to get it where I want when I know an SV650 or FZ-07 would work a lot better for me. I'm just scared to see what they are going to charge for the new SV. I like it but not for $8K, fuck that.

Just get an old pointy then? Honestly man, the post FI ones (i.e. 2004+ because the 03 was unique) are great. They routinely go up 40k+ miles when taken care of.

I already told you I'd sell you mine if I found a reasonable striple R ;)

In terms of protection/quality, how do Joe Rocket jackets rate?  $300 seems a bit low for a great jacket, but they claim it is 1.0-1.2mm thickness, and they have pockets for armor.  The other one I'm looking at is Roland Sands Ronin.

Get the Ronin. I have one and it's f*king sweet.

Joe rocket would get the job done. Leather won't be as nice and detailing won't be as cool. But it'd be fine. Just nothing special and less likely to survive many years and multiple slides.  I had a slide in my Ronin once. Helped break it in.

Thanks.  What size do you have?  How does it measure?  RSD gives ranges of sizes, and I'm probably between a medium and a large (I'm a 40L suit) but leaning towards large.

The Ronin runs a bit trim. European sizing, basically. I'm about a 41" chest and went with a Large. Because I'm a stickler, I went to a leatherworker and had the sleeves shortened and the body contoured to me. I will say the sleeves run a bit long for me, so check that measurement. If the size works, great. If it's off, make sure you have a good leatherworker.

I'm a Dianese/Spidi kinda guy. Joe Rocket gear never fit me quite right (that's my story and I'm sticking to it)

I bought the Ronin - black and smoke.  Here's to hoping it fits!

Anyone's looking for a bike and in the middle of the country, I'm trying to sell my Sportster to fund a car upgrade. Sucks, but needs must and I'll have another bike someday.

Check it out and LMK if you know anyone who might be interested.

Just bought some ridiculously pricey Saint jeans - dyneema woven into the fabric (not patches like a lot of other jeans). They feel like soft lightweight summer jeans and are ridiculously nice.
