+1 The level of ineptitude of drivers I see everyday is mind boggling.

The only thing worse is a justice system that accepts the excuses these twats make when they kill somebody, whether a pedistrian or rider..

- "I didn't see him..."

- "They came from out of nowhere..."

- "I couldn't stop in time..."

- "They were speeding..."

If a person hits a pedestrian, bicyclist, or a motorcyclist, the level of ineptitude and carelessness displayed should be enough to warrant automatic criminal charges, period. The burden of proof should be shifted to the driver to prove they were driving carefully and attentively..

In Japan, and Denmark it is exactly that way.

That's one of the reasons that I'd really like a GoPro camera, or something similar, in order to have proof if one of those tards ever causes me to crash.

I'd like states in this country to adopt a much more rigorous licensing policy for one to earn the right to drive a motor vehicle. Something such as Germans have to go through to get a license; 25-45 hours of professional instruction, 12 hours of theory, and a cost of over $2000. The Germans actually make you become a competent driver before you get your license.

Yeah but the costs seem kind of prohibitive, especially if you're 16 and need a way to get to school...

No 16 year old "needs" a car to go to school...how did they get to school when they were 15.75? Oh thats right, they took the big yellow bus (or the subway or whatever).

When I was 16 I had to walk to school 2 miles uphill . . . both ways! snork[1].gif

What about when they need to go to college/university? (Assuming they commute)

And when we got home mum and dad would cut us in half with a bread knife and dance around our grave singing hallelujah.
