Zicam Nasal Spray Production Halted

According to the news, the FDA is forcing the sales of the product to be halted due to a side effect- anosmia (loss of sense of smell) which can be permanent

This has been known for a while and an allergist I know used to get so upset when she saw people using them. Apparently it's not a rare side effect.

My mother swears by them, but she is guided a lot by habit and prejudice anymore moreso than reason or sensibility.

I heard about this a while ago but assumed the cases were rare. I use the dissolving tabs -- no danger there, right?

This sucks b/c I used the nasal spray and it really did work (for me). Is it just the swabs or all the products?
