meh... the traffic isn't any better, but can be avoided if you know your way around and know what times to avoid certain roads.

I'm the opposite. I also had the misfortune to grow up on SI...when I went to college and saw what the rest of the world lived like, I got out as soon as I could. Moved to Park Slope, got priced out and finally bought a 2 br co-op in Bay Ridge. When my kids are in school, SI will be the last place I will want them...remember all those guido assholes you hate? Guess who your kid will be going to school with...? Their kids.

There are some places that serve good food if you can put up with the "ambiance" but I much prefer to squeeze my life in a 2BR here in Brooklyn then have a house THERE. FYI, my parents still live there, so I'm there a decent amount now, and its not changed...traffic still sucks, stay away from the single lane roads (Victory, Manor, Bay, Bradley, Rockland) and the Mall from school dismissal to about 7PM.

wow... you're right. Quite a few parallels to be drawn between us. I agree with this sentiment exactly.

Staten Island? Poor thing... I live in Tribeca. We might as well be in different countries.
