I have several pairs of very nice black shoes. The last time I wore them was May 2008.

Well, to each his own. For me, I don't think I could ever do without some black shoes, as has been noted when you really want to project a CBD image they are essential. And they can be very elegant. Agreed that it would be boring to wear black bals every day. I would say that I now wear non-black shoes 50-75% of the time, though, which is probably up from 20% a few years ago. SF has definitely been a catalyst to this change, mostly just from my looking at all the lovely brown, burgundy, and other colored shoe porn. PG has a point about dark blue - I have been coveting a pair...

I wear black shoes as well as brown. Especially for court appearances, I find that the black Park Avenue is a safe, conservative and classic look. Maybe not the most "stylish," but it is a good looking shoe that works well.
