Good haircuts in LA?

Thread Starter
Looking for a new place for a haircut in LA. I live on the west side, and would prefer to stay west of La Brea. I don't like super trendy styles, but like an up-to-date look, and someone who is really good with different hair types (mine tends to grow a bit odd). Am hoping to keep this to the $50 range (pre-tip). Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

probably not what you're looking for but I've always gotten a good cut over at Floyd's Barbershop, multiple locations. its only $21 bucks but beats most of the "chain" places. i guess you can try out different people until you find someone you like?

Melissa B or Ali Hair Salon in Westwood Village. Can't go wrong.

Bring a picture with you of your desired look. Nothing more important. Don't leave it up to verbal instructions.

Go to Rudy's at The Standard on Sunset. West of La Brea, good staff and CHEAP...

Depending on if you're asian, I've always got a good haircut from Taka Hair on Sawtelle. (Though my current stylist of 5 years has now moved to Nobuuu on Westwood Bl).

The vidal sassoon academy in santa monica is realy good as long as you don't mind a longer than average timeframe. It only runs $25 on weekends, $21 on weekdays, and $10.50 weekdays if you're a student
