The show is campy. Some people like that, some people don't. But I'll give it a lot of credit for managing to be a compelling and entertaining show while also not taking itself too seriously. Most dramas that don't take themselves seriously end up descending into retarded self-parody. True Blood always skims the surface of such retardation, but nimbly avoids the plunge.

I wouldn't go so far as compelling and entertaining. It's certainly well made, but there are so many [imo] overarching annoyances. Tara's been mentioned already in this thread; I absolutely HATE her and just wish she would have died in episode 1. Guy-on-guy make out sessions are not my thing, either. That whole Maead plotline was just terrible in every sense-terribly written, terribly acted, and just seemed like filler. I think part of my problem is that, with True Blood [and any other HBO show], you're committing to 60 minutes each episode. I'm the guy that hates sitting through a 60 minute show for 3 minutes of awesome, and Sookie is a dumb cunt so it doesn't help my attention span. Bill is fine, Godric was awesome (still my fav vamp), and Eric is also pretty sweet. The humans are all boring as shit though.

Franklin has easily been my favorite vampire, Godric not far behind.

the reappearance of Tara's lip-tremble makes me want to choke the life out of her but I'll settle for crossing my fingers for her being drained by the end of the season.

i'm really hoping andy puts a bullet in tara next week. it won't happen but one can dream.

sort of a dry episode. not sure what that dream with lafayette and jesus was all about. they have a lot to pull together with the 2-3 episodes left.

next week looks mighty fine.

Bingo on the FAS facial features. And that lip.

Hate to break this, but saw a clip of her saying they're back for S4. Tara does not seem to die

I thought we had some actual plot movement in a couple threads and some nice back story on Sam.

Jason shot the wrong being last week. I would have even sacrificed Franklin if Tara went along with him.

Something I thought about last night: TB does a commendable job of weaving the plot lines of roughly a dozen characters. Compare this, with say, Entourage, that can't handle 5 characters.

I'm surprised there isn't a mass petition sent to HBO to get rid of Tara. We should send in voodoo dolls with a picture of Tara's face on them.

Lulz at Meekus. Man, was he scrawny. Also, check out the scene here: http://www.fanpop.com/spots/alexande...deleted-scenes His English has greatly improved.

The Sam backstory was interesting but completely out of left field. Where they came up with that I have no idea. More Tara = teh suck. Looks like Eric will try and take Sookie's blood to be able to kill Russell during the daylight. Anyone think biscuit girl will go all FOTS and try and kill Jessica now that her and Hoyt are back together?

I was more surprised to figure out that he was Iceman in Generation Kill
