ha not ruining it. i really have no idea what's going to happen. haven't read the books, nothing, just a bold guess. something tells me that since he is the most powerful vampire on the show, no other vampire will kill him.

No way. If Eric doesn't get him, the Authority will.

He just royally screwed their chances for acceptance by the general public with that Mortal Kombat move.

It's not that they can't, it's just that he's going to be very hard to handle. He'll be faster and stronger than all the other vamps we've been exposed to.

I think it'll be the queen. Matt - skip this season until the finale plays out. Its really on the precipice at this point.

Out of curiosity, how old was Godric supposed to have been? My guess (no spoiler, just a guess) is that Sookie kills Russell with her "light," which was foreshadowed by Godric's suicide, when he said something along the lines of "At my age, sunlight works very quickly."

Light seems to be the one point around which vampires grow weaker as they age.

Assuming Russell is about 3000 or so, and Godric was at least 2000, then Russell should be pretty darned weak around daylight.

They never really said in the book. Definitely not as old as he was portrayed in the show.

I'm gonna guess he was meant to have been anywhere from 2000-2500 in the show, based on Erik's comments and based on his line about having lived contemporaneously with Jesus. Russell is about "three times my age," according to Erik, so I assume a little over 3000.

If you really really like seasons 1 and 2 go ahead and watch 3. I personally find the show awful in many senses, but it's good background video/audio so I'm "up-to-date". As other posters have mentioned, it gets pretty ridiculous in some of its plot/acting/other annoyances.

If, by "awful," you mean "fucking amazing," then I agree. The show is campy. Some people like that, some people don't. But I'll give it a lot of credit for managing to be a compelling and entertaining show while also not taking itself too seriously. Most dramas that don't take themselves seriously end up descending into retarded self-parody. True Blood always skims the surface of such retardation, but nimbly avoids the plunge.

FWIW, it's been said in the show, Eric = 1k, Godric = 2k, and Russell = 3k.

Also, Eric is stronger than the Queen, he said he'd merely been submitting due to chain of command issues.

Not sure the latest twist with the king hasn't accomplished this.
