The huge thread on Toronto MTM got me wondering if anyone would like to have a discussion about similar options in Montreal...

Has anyone had experience with Bespoke or MTM in Montreal? If so, where? And, what were/are your impressions?

Seeing that Samuelsohn is based in Montreal, I would expect them to be the big dog in town for MTM services.

^ Not necessarily. Afaik, you can't just show up at their building and get a MTM suit; you have to go through one of their retailers. In that sense, having them located here makes no difference.

I'm just saying to expect work to be outsourced to Samuelsohn if you're in Montreal. In any case, seeing that Martin Greenfield is willing to accept MTM orders without going through Brooks Brothers, I don't see why contacting Samuelsohn directly wouldn't hurt.

Georges St. Pierre of the UFC has his suits custom made in Montreal. They did a segment on him and his life in Montreal. Google it or try youtube for the episode.

The retailers carrying Samuelsohn wouldn't like it if people could bypass them and go straight to the factory, so, generally, no. And there are, sadly, very few true bespoke options in town.

I stand corrected.

I am just back from a visit to two tailors in Montreal where I ordered MTM trousers (D'attilio Tailor and G. Tonino). Both will be in charcoal wool with a slim fit cut and flat front.

I should have them in two weeks.

Keep in mind that this will be my first MTM experience and that I am VERY far from being an expert in clothes... That said, I will gladly share my impressions once I will have them, if anyone is interested
