I'm pretty familiar with most neighbourhoods in Torotno, but when I get too far north and deviate far enough from Yonge I'm not so sure. Does anyone know what the neighbourhood is like around Lawrence/Dufferin??

Hey LVoer, I'm personally not familiar with that neighborhood but according to this site the area in question is comprised of Glen Park and Downsview - http://www.torontoneighbourhoodguide...northyork.html . It's probably not much help but it's a start I suppose. By the way I think you accidentally posted a duplicate of this thread.

It's a non descript neighborhood. Mostly commercial. Car dealership. Holiday Inn.
Shoppers Drug Mart. Near Yorkdale Shopping Center. Some apartments, duplexes
and small homes. Not really a "walking" neighborhood. Bus line on Lawrence and on Dufferin.
Near 401 and Allen Expressway.
Neighborhood gets a little better as you go east along Lawrence as you approach
Bathurst. A little further south on Bathurst is where Forest Hill starts.

Wouldn't recommend for a young guy unless it's near work and that's important to you.

That's what I was worried about. Doesn't sound like a place for me.

Thanks.

As said before it's Downsview/North York.

I went to York U for 4 years and lived up there for 3 of them. It's a burb; not a ton going on. Gets better if you head West (towards Concord and Vaughn), South and East.

I then lived in the Annex for a year and bit. A lot more fun.

PM if you have any questions about neighbourhoods.
