1- dk brown punch cap bal
2- brown Adelaide cap
3- black punch cap bal (only because there are times when you need black shoes)

Luckily for me, I have already have shoes that fit those descriptions!

1. Black shell perf tip Bal Oxford
2. Mahogany plain toe blucher
3. Dark brown shell longwing

Mahogany is probably my favourite shell color (followed very closely by brown --> think darlton). Some pics from AAAC:

I'm way beyond the fiery chestnut. Beginners wear black, intermediates choose fiery chestnut (and the whole family of middle browns and tans), the advanced go for dark brown, the elite choose #8, and jaded masters return to black.

Plain derbies.

Brogued derbies (preferably longwings or budapesters).

The Trad in me concedes the last part, but I remain secure in the knowledge that the fiery chestnut is only for the daring, while the darker colors are the providence of the hesitant and conservative.

I'm sure a lot of guys over at Andy's would agree with you, though.

At least one of mine would have to be Doc's contrast stitch Nettletons..

I would probably go with:

- Black pebble grain BF longwings
- Vass austerity brogues
- Barker Black wingtips, think the color is somewhere between chestnut and tan, or something like that..

The guys at Andy's are still debating whether yellow dress shirts are a staple. I just think attention-getting colors like fiery chestnut imply a greater interest in beautiful shoes than a balanced outfit. Dark brown and #8 are team players.

Dark =/= balanced. Sometimes you need lighter shoes, lest you be split in half by dark trou and lighter top. Fiery chestnut works with both lighter and darker colors, without creating a sea of darkness below the waist.
