Hecule Poirot, as played by David Suchet. I'm not sure how much explanation is necessary, other than to say that I am a huge fan of the books (but not the Miss Marple ones) and find Suchet's to be the perfect version. Sartorially, of course, he is fastidious and more than a bit of a dandy--perhaps even for his time.

My avatar is Holmes -- the original Sydney Paget rendering, from 'The Noble Bachelor,' IMMSMC. I have always been a Holmes fan, and collect associated items that strike my fancy, especially original editions of the Strand magazine, wherein most of the stories were serialized.
I have been told (even here) that I bear a resemblance -- somewhat hawkish, large nose, long neck, analytical bearing.
We should include screenames as well -- as for mine, well I do, I also like the severity of the house style, and the name has a pleasing ring to my ear.

ps. Do you ever think, if only for a fleeting moment, that we've driven Manton a little 'round the bend?
