Not exactly "close" to you, but I know a Mexican place in Interlaken that has/had live mariachi and salsa music once a week or so.

My most recent avatar is from the cover of the Broun Fellinis album, Afrokubistic Improvisations #9. One of my favorite bands.

I want J to explain his new avatar. I find it rather disturbing.

Le Samourai, oui?

I listed it in the stylish films thread...I think this film gets overlooked by many people.

My avatar is of the man himself. The Bicycle Thief is genius, it helped inspire the French New Wave (I adore Truffaut, and love Breathless), and if i could be a tenth of the director that DeSica was, I could justify not finishing University and not going to law school.

Speaking of avatars, anyone know this line...?

Yes, and the avatar said to blow the bar,
But first remove the cookie jar,
We're gonna teach those boys to laugh too soon.

I was avatar-less! You can't imagine my shame.

Economically and sartorially, I'm OK! Not superb but certainly OK.

But without an avatar, I felt "less than!".

Last night on one of the Send Connemara to... threads, I asked if anyone had a suggestion for an avatar. Within minutes VersaceMan posted this avatar of the puppies in a car trunk. I liked it and used it.

I also "borrowed my sig" from a quote of globetrotters. I just like it's meaning and appropriateness.

Since both my avatar and signature are gifts, I'll eventually change them. Buy, I must say, it feels great to have both.

I feel like a new poster.

When you do get rid of your puppies, just don't sell them to Mr. Burns.

Asriel, in The Golden Compass.

Looks like quite the interesting movie.

The books are basically my favorite novels. I was worried they'd dumb them down for the movie, but everyone involved with it has been saying otherwise. The released stills have been fascinatingly promising, at the very least.

This dog is hilarious.
