Anyone care to explain your Avatar? / Bigger version of your Avatar

I had one before the crash. Looking for one currently.

What does yours mean or why did you pick it?

Did you change it since starting over?

I had one too before the crash, it was Napoleon Crossing the Saint Bernard by J.L. David:

I only put it on to piss off Ernest.

Hecule Poirot, as played by David Suchet. I'm not sure how much explanation is necessary, other than to say that I am a huge fan of the books (but not the Miss Marple ones) and find Suchet's to be the perfect version. Sartorially, of course, he is fastidious and more than a bit of a dandy--perhaps even for his time.

My current one, and one that I've used before, is William Faulkner by the pool with socks and typewriter.

Mine is a picture of my daughter. I took the opportunity to update my avatar to something a little more current.

Come on, the resemblance never struck you?

My avatar is Holmes -- the original Sydney Paget rendering, from 'The Noble Bachelor,' IMMSMC. I have always been a Holmes fan, and collect associated items that strike my fancy, especially original editions of the Strand magazine, wherein most of the stories were serialized.

I have been told (even here) that I bear a resemblance -- somewhat hawkish, large nose, long neck, analytical bearing.

We should include screenames as well -- as for mine, well I do, I also like the severity of the house style, and the name has a pleasing ring to my ear.

Regards,
Huntsman

ps. Do you ever think, if only for a fleeting moment, that we've driven Manton a little 'round the bend?

Mine was of Rubber Johnny, but I took it down due to creepy-ness.

Ace Ventura: [has been trying to figure out a connection between Lt. Lois Einhorn and football player Ray Finkle, when he sees his dog's fur overlapping Finkle's hair in a photo] What the... That's it! Einhorn is Finkle! Finkle is Einhorn! Einhorn is a man!
[Ace remembers how Einhorn kissed him and the pieces fall into place]
Ace Ventura: Oh, my GOD! Einhorn is a man!
[Ace heads to the bathroom to throw up]
