Pretty much. You can easily do these conversions on Google if you are still unsure. PS, thanks, Steven :-)

How long does it take to get the fabric once an order is placed?

I just wanted to put in a quick plug for Andrew. He provides a first rate service; whatever you buy comes extremely fast, he's very friendly and replies with lightning speed to messages. Highly recommended.

I'd like to echo that as well, having bought Minnis cloth from Andrew he is a world class seller and a true gentleman.

Perhaps I missed it, but what is the price on the Firefly fabrics? The specs on them say they are on the lighter side (tropical). I think you also mentioned some Mohair. Would that make these fabrics shiny? What would be an appropriate use for this type of fabric?

+1. Andrew is hands down the best seller I've dealt with here, be it in terms of customer service or efficiency.

Prices Firefly 48 GBP a metre Also, it is quite light. Firefly is good for summer suits (and odd coats for some). The mohair adds a bit of a shine, but it is not ostentatious, it also only makes up 16% of the blend. The rest is wool.

There's a lot of good stuff here.

On a somewhat tangential matter, have Minnis / Hardy discontinued the Dorchester line? It seems to have dropped off their website.

Yes :-( The old Alsport is also going and is being entirely replaced by the New Alsport, which is a different bunch altogether in terms of design. If you are interested in any of the old Alsport and would like to save some money, contact me. Prices are normally 90 GBP a metre. Mine are 45 GBP a metre. You can find what's left here http://www.hfwltd.com/bobb.php?b=jgh&c=2&p=1

Two things. First, a member here is having a custom order put through with Fox Bros. and needs only 15 metres of orders for it to go ahead. The cost would be 45 GBP per metre plus shipping from Fox Bros. These are direct prices with no mark up from the mill. The cloth ships from the mill and you can add any cloth you have seen here for sale from their stock-suppored line, if you are interested. This would make shipping a bit more economical :-) If you are interested, you can find more information here http://www.cutterandtailor.com/forum...877&#entry1877 The cloth is looks like this Second! Okay, HFW is back. HFW is John G Hardy and J&J Minnis. See the following site for details and some (dark) pictures. http://www.hfwltd.com/ Prices are per metre and are in GBP. Savings are between 30% and 50% off. There is also a bit of a saving in shipping costs doing things this way rather than through the web-shop. Prices are conditional upon continued support, so please, gang, keep up the orders. NO TIME WASTERS PLEASE. I just can't be bothered with them any more and I get my fair share. HFW and I are not here to indulge in your fantasies of one day getting something made up that you really have no intention of carrying out.
