Yeah, it's not really a novel I want to go back and read, but I was enraptured with it when I read it. Still think it's brilliant, though.

About halfway through the latest Culture novel from Iain M. Banks, The Hydrogen Sonata. While on the whole I'm enjoying it, I feel like it's hitting many of the same notes that he has hit before (pun intended), and it just doesn't feel as fresh and exciting as the first books in the series did.

I just read "The Signal and the Noise" by Nate Silver.  It was pretty good, but I didn't really learn anything new.

I just started (for the third time) "Guns, Germs, & Steel" by Jared Diamond.  I am really making an effort to read this book, but it is kind of boring.

As far as fiction goes, I just finished "Cloud Atlas" which was a pretty good read.

If he's on the same pace as the last few, more like 2020.

James Sallis is severely under-appreciated, this series especially.

It's not the normal book posted on this thread, however I thought it was worth mentioning.  Etiquette for Outlaws: Rob Cohen and David Wollock.  It is a quick read but really entertaining.  Talks about how to find a good bookie, strip club etiquette, what to do in a bar fight, etc.  It was recommended to me by a friend for pure entertainment factor so I figured I would pass it on.

Sandman: Book of Dreams, an anthology by diverse authors of stories set in the Sandman universe. A couple of duds, but as a whole it's excellent.
