b-b-because?

Because he continually injects his personal political opinions into a work of popular science.

Because he self-promotes throughout the work.

Because it's a massive book that still manages to feel breezy and inadequate.

"Your Inner Fish" attempted a similar project with greater success.

I downloaded Kindle to my phone as a sort of test run to see if I'd use it, and I'm taking advantage of all the free classics they have to offer. Currently, it's:

Just finished reading the Paul Kearney monarchies of god series...damn if you thought george rr martin was ballsy for his willingness to kill main characters. Thanks I think to Teger for suggesting this. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
pretty sure that not a single significant character from book 1 is alive at the end of book 5. Jemilla is still around but I don't think she actually becomes significant until after book 1 (hard to tell since I read the version where they combined all 5 books into 2 volumes)

Also read the hunger games yesterday/this morning...going to see it with friends later today.
