I really liked American Gods, Neil Gaiman writes some excellent and twisted books and stories, I must read more of his.

I LOL'd at all these comments.

Surely buying Lolita raises some sort of red flag against your name (that's why I borrowed my friend's copy)

Hammered out 4 of Toni Morrison's novels (Beloved, Sula, Song of Solomon and The Bluest Eye) for a class - that shit gave me a new perspective on how fucked up USA was (and to some extent still is). T. Morrison is no Ralph Ellison though. Beloved is worth a read.

Now reading all of Paradise Lost lol. Wish me luck. It is undoubtably great but fuck reading 200+ pages of blank verse sucks.

Just finished Steve Jobs and Coming Apart: the State of White America 1960-2010. Now it's just board review books.

Best part is that all the famous quotes are in the first 10 pages.

Gives real insight on the reading habits of the famous through history.
Warning: advice! (Click to show)
Don't give up at least till you reach the 16th century superhighway to hell.

It's wonderfully descriptive. Capote had a true feel for the people and places about which he was writing.

Read this on vacation a couple of years ago and really liked it.  Your description of Capote's writing style is spot-on.

Yeah - When you said Common sense it banged the nail on the head..Sometimes you forget that all that is being said is Common Sense which looked at it in another perspective but there is strategies as-well - Excellent book!
