I just finished "The Tigers Wife" by Tea Obreht. Well done first novel, with a nice mix of the fantastic and the serious. She's going to be an amazing writer one day.

Z For Zacheria by O'Brien is great YAF

The movie was horrid, the series is great fun. That is, if you like the Greek myths, adults who are hopeless, and kids running around being useful and daring. Good stuff.

One of my favorite bits is when Apollo uses Targets for targets.

Start from the Lightning Thief.

Was just discussing this yesterday with the guy at the video store. Apparently the movie is awful.

He's a translator himself so the English translations that have been published over the last 10 years have been very good. My wife usually reads both versions of the same book and often likes them equally.

Now I´ve gotten hold of the first two books, compiled into one, of his 1Q84 trilogy, but this time in spanish. But first I need to finish "The wind up Bird Chronicle".
