Niall Ferguson is one of the best history writers in my opinion, definately a great read I suppose

yeah i finished the ascent of money this summer and read part of pity of war soph year of college. Rumor has it that he has most of his research work done by his 7 PHD students lol.

if you are going to the desert, find a copy of capricornia, by xavier herbert. take a rifle too. as an added benefit, I am sure that the prose style is SF approved. take this advice from the last man to be kicked out of the sydney university english literature department. alternatively, take some philip roth, it is always nice to be reminded of some inner city angst out there.
