That has been on my reading list for like 3 years. I'm going to finish this tomorrow (it's short, ~220 pages with big type). It was either longlisted or shortlisted for the Booker. Either way, it's pretty good.

Just got done with the first 200 pages in The Road by Cormac mcarthy. Freaking me out man. Surprisingly easy, though somewhat disturbing, read.

Finished The Road. Started last night and finished this morning. Mcarthys short prose makes this story a quick and worthwhile read, especially if you want a break from another book. I really enjoyed The Road. I wont hurry back to give it a second reading but I would recommend it to friends.

I read the book in the same time frame as you, same days. Weird! Anyway, that was my first exposure to the author and ran out to grab Blood Meridian off the shelf.

Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts. Its a big mofo, weighing in at just shy of 1000 pages, and it's not huge type or anything either. So far a great read, very beautiful and poetically written.

Haha this is on my reading list. I've heard good things about it.

Just finished reading Darkness Take My Hand which is the second novel in the Kenzie and Gennaro series by Dennis Lehane. It's a good crime thriller.

I began reading The Road but found it very dull. Now I'm about to start reading Gulliver's Travels.
