You mean the TG01? I've only seen and read about the TG01 from some review sites.

I haven't actually touched it, but a phone dealer in my area keeps calling me and wanting me to go in the store. Funny thing is he acts like he has it in his posession, but I read it doesn't come out until the 15th

i can say definitely do not get a Samsung Instinct or Samsung u740. Both locked up constantly and had to be exchanged 3+ times before giving up

My LG 8700 Shine has not let me down yet though. and its been through some hell the 10 months i've had it and it still works like its new. I find its slim and professional looking as well. Mainly for calls i'd say unless your good at typing with a normal keypad

Haven't heard much bad about the Blackberry Curve. and its a pretty nifty phone to play around with. thinking of getting one myself actually so i can spend more time on various projects while i'm out

if nokia's are in, give the e71 a try.. full keyboard and same software.. Used it for 6 months now and would only consider swapping it with one or two blackberry's, and thats coming from a guy that is used to getting a new phone every 4 to 5 months..

I replaced my old clamshell Samsung phone this past weekend with the Env3, and so far it’s been great. Keep in mind that I use this phone largely for calls and texting. The qwerty keyboard is large and well spaced, and I like the option of using it as candybar phone. Another key feature for me is the weight. I like light phones, and the Env3 is listed to be lighter than the LG Dare and the Samsung Alias 2, although IRL it seems like it weighs about the same as the Curve. I can also use those old wired earpieces too, but I think call quality suffers when I use mine.

My negatives so far include the low sound in the vibrate mode, my preferred setting. I can barely hear the phone when it’s ringing. The camera, 3.0 MP, doesn’t seem to have sharp color quality, but maybe I need to play around with it more. My biggest ***** so far is the power cord setup. You have to use a USB cord with a wall adapter, rendering my old power cords useless. The USB cord appears to be proprietary too since the USB from my GPS doesn’t fit. That complaint doesn't relate to the phone's performance, but it's another reminder to me that some things needs to be standardized.

Thanks for the review. This is one of the phones I am looking at. I'm on the Verizon network in case anyone is wondering.

Link I found this site helpful in getting info about phones. Did you see the new Samsung Omnia? I checked it out a couple of weeks ago and it's really nice although I didn't read the thread so I'm not sure of your criteria... I'm on the Verizon network as well... I like flip phones the best but the Omnia is something I'd try. I have the "new every 2" years so in the next couple of months I'll probably get something new... some phones for Verizon including the Omnia if you scroll down...

I have the LG 8700 aswell, and I love it, it looks great, and is very slim with a great screen. I love the big keypad for texting too. The only thing is, that it is dying slowly on me after a hard year and a half, and I want to get basically the same thing, but I can't find anything like it.

I really want Word, insted of t9, what are some companies that use Word besides LG?

It really depends on what you're planning on using the phone for. If you're a hard core email/texting/business contact guy then it's a Blackberry no question. Otherwise, I'd go with aforementioned Nokia recs. They really do make the best phones.

Just pulled the trigger 20 minutes ago by switching my personal cell line from AT&T to Verizon to try out the BB storm so should be getting the phones tomorrow.

For all of its minor Flaws, Iphone is still an amazing phone. The new one should be even better.

don't overlook the importance of the charger cable. there is value to be had in the market, but you'll pay a premium. stay away from anything 'styroenhnced' - it's all garbage. personally, i'd be looking at the bronze electrolode shurechargz. expen$$$ive, but worth it.
