I realize that as i get older i am becoming a fairly habitual dresser.
I am thinking of basing my wardrobe on 1-button suits similar to the one by huntsman below.
I would like to know what the experts say about the timelessness of such an suit.

As far as I know, it's not a staple. I mean it's not very often that I see them being sold, or see guys wearing them. So I wouldn't say they are timeless.

Unless it's a Dinner Jacket, I would stay away from a Single Button jacket until a sizable suit wardrobe has been established.

One button, usually with a peak lapel, is one of the more popular Saville Row cuts. I think Kilgour does a great one even RTW.

Before I answer, what makes you think that the photograph that you attached is of a Huntsman?

I don't own any one button suits, and I don't foresee owning one in the future. So, no, not a staple, at least IMO.

It's not. Master Tailor Darren Beaman skillfully (and fully) tailored this suit.

PM or email Will. He would gladly assist you in contacting Mr. Beaman.

i just read will's blog about this talented but clearly dishonest tailor. I have neither the resources nor the disposition to peacefully endure such an experience. i wonder if sam leung or mr. ned could make such a garment.

I know 1 button suits accomodate smaller people. The low stance of the single button suits a person with a smaller frame. That being said, you should be patient in purchasing one. Its not a necessitious piece, but it does add versatility to your wardrobe.

Works for larger people as well. I'm thinking about adding a second button though.
