I like patch pockets on casual jackets, but like a variety. I suspect if I ever get a tweed jacket made for me I'll go patched bellows with flaps.

Patch pockets on all odd jackets, with welted breast pockets. I would consider patch pockets on some more casual suits, but not on all of them.

Caveats: If shaped wrong (especially in the breast pocket) they can look bad. If you use a very large pocket square, it can poof out the pocket in a suspect way. If you use a small pocket sqaure, it can sink in a larger breast pocket. You might not be awesome enough.

Yes, welted breast pocket on suits. For ALL the reasons chorse mentioned.
