Yeah, I had the same reaction when they released Armageddon in 1998.

Wait, you mean this is important cinema that needs to be protected and cherished?

FWIW, it was the 40th Criterion release, sandwiched in between Seijun Suzuki's Tokyo Drifter and Lawrence Oliver's Henry V.
