I like Scotch and Cognac.

Put me down for both as well. Found a great place here that sells cognac from some of the smaller houses. I also enjoy the single malt scotch I've tried. Interesting the difference between say laphroaig and balvenie. Depends on the occassion and my fickle preference as to which I drink. My experience is probably much more limited than others on this forum though.

Cheap cognac is nasty and nigh undrinkable. But good cognac is amazing and maybe unparalleled. Whisk(e)y has all different levels of good and all kinds of different styles. I voted whiskey because it is more versatile with more types of flavors. If I got to choose between a $50 whisky and a $50 cognac, I'd take the whisky. If I got to choose between $500 qualities of each, I'd choose the cognac.

Both. But pushed to choose...cognac, no question.

Also, double poll-fail. Should have included "both" and should have been public.

Pretty much this. Might take more than the $500 price point to move cognac into first for me though. The bottle of 1965 Louis XIII I had, will probably never be matched again in my life. But whisky has so many styles, flavours, and price points, it's hard to go wrong. Plus, IMO, it is more versatile in drinks.

So you're saying I've never had good cognac.
